  • National Rifle Team Continues To Sport Success
    OTTAWA – The Army Cadet National Rifle Team, currently competing at an annual international competition in Bisley, United Kingdom, has won the Imperial Junior Long Range Team match with a score of 1144.

  • HMC Ship Named For Cobalt Area Highlight Naval Centennial
    COBALT, ONT. - A representative of the Canadian Navy will present a framed pictorial history of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Cobalt to its namesake at Major Holland V.C. Memorial Park (across from the Legion) on Saturday, July 31st at 4:00 p.m.

  • Remainder of 2010 CF-18 Demo Team shows cancelled
    Winnipeg, Man. – The remainder of the 2010 air show season for the Canadian Forces CF-18 Demonstration Team, which comprises eight air show venues across North America, has been cancelled today.

  • Statement By Ministers Mackay And Blackburn On The Future Of CFB Bagotville
    OTTAWA –The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, and the Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Veteran's Affairs and MP for Jonquière-Alma, made the following statement on Canadian Forces Base Bagotville:

  • Missing Aircraft Found
    Winnipeg, Man. – At approximately 10 a.m. MDT today, search and rescue crews found the Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft that went missing after it departed Norman Wells, N.W.T. on Saturday, July 24, 2010.

  • Sea Cadets Perform Ceremony Of The Flags On Parliament Hill
    OTTAWA – In honour of the Canadian Naval Centennial, members of the band and guard of honour of HMCS Ontario’s Sea Cadet Summer Training Centre will perform the Ceremony of the Flags on the front grounds of Parliament Hill on July 31, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This event, presented by the Canadian Forces and the Navy League of Canada, is open to the public free of charge.

  • Maritime Helicopter Project
    The Maritime Helicopter (MH) project is a complex program that involves the delivery of 28 state-of-the-art, combat-capable CH-148 Cyclone helicopters, associated logistical and in-service support, spare parts, as well as modifications to the Halifax-class ships and construction of a new training facility equipped with a full training suite of flight, mission and maintenance simulators.

  • Statement From Pilot Of CF-18 Demo Hornet
    Winnipeg, Man. - Captain Brian Bews, the Canadian Forces 2010 Demo Hornet pilot who ejected from his CF-18 Hornet in Lethbridge, Alberta Friday has authorized disclosure of his injuries - compression fractures in three vertebrae - and has issued the following statement:

  • Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson Assumes Role As Vice Chief Of The Defence Staff
    OTTAWA – Vice-Admiral Bruce Donaldson today assumed the role of the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff (VCDS) from Vice-Admiral Denis Rouleau, who will become the Canadian military representative to NATO in Brussels. Prior to his appointment as the VCDS, Vice-Admiral Donaldson served as Commander Canada Command.

  • CF-18 Hornet crashes at air show in Lethbridge
    Winnipeg, Man. – At approximately 12:15 p.m. MDT today, a CF-18 Hornet fighter jet crashed during a practice session for the Alberta International Airshow in Lethbridge, Alta.
